Whole outfit for £2.84 from Primark - Grabbing the dregs in the Summer Sales-

Its that time when the sales are pretty much gone and shops are piling in the coats and jumpers for autumn/winter but its the perfect time to have a rummage through the dregs of the sale rails. The last thing on your mind now is probably summer clothes but a lot of things that you wear at summer aren't necessarily trend related for example flip flops and dresses, they are pretty much the same each year. I snapped these up last year at Primark. The dress was 50p, the flip flops £1 and the belt was in a pack of 3 for a pound so technically around 34p and sunglasses £1. So its definitely worth having a look at the sale rails over the coming weeks to see what you can find for next year.

Designer Luggage including DVF Studio for £39.99 in Tkmaxx

I have to admit, I've always had a thing for luggage since I was a child. Initially I think it was because it made we think about going on holiday but now I think of them kinda the same way as handbags. For Hold luggage I've had a large Antler Revelation Nexus with four wheels. Its really light and so far its been very durable. For cabin baggage my dream case is a Louis Vuitton Pegase. I have imagined myself walking out of the airport with one wheeling behind me for many years. Honestly though I just can't justify the cost.
I would be petrified that somebody would run into me and mark it. I love that it says that there is a cover to put over it for travel though - very clever idea!

I also received an interesting email from Anya Hindmarch recently announcing their new Bespoke Walton. I love the idea of it having your own initials on it and the vintage style. It is used like a holdall but inside looks like a suitcase.
My problem is, that beige canvas luggage and me is a disaster waiting to happen.

Now its no surprise to people that know me that DVF would be on my luggage list too. I love everything Diane designs and influences. I saw last year some DVF Studio Luggage in Tkmaxx in bright pink and blue. But as per usual I hummed and hayed until there was none left and then decided  I really wanted one.
Luckily this year my mum spotted them in TKmaxx in black with DVF all over it, much more practical and every season worthy colour. There was no way that I was going to miss out on it this time, not at £39.99 instead of the recommended retail of $300.00. Now it may not be as fancy as Louis Vuitton or Anya Hindmarch but it is perfect for me and I can't wait to take it on holiday.

YSL Arty style ring at Matalan

I got quite a few bargains in Matalan today but these are by far my favourite!
I am so excited by these rings.
They were £6 reduced to £2 and look just like the famous YSL Arty Rings.
Net-a-Porter recently had the YSL ones reduced to £90 in their sale (link) and I have to admit I was tempted. But I will be happy with my Matalan version.

I'm Lovin Bloglovin

As you can probably tell I'm pretty new to blogging but I'm already loving using Bloglovin. Its so easy to access all your favourite blogs. I have the apps on my Ipad and Iphone so I can always keep up to date. Its so easy to set up, if you are not already using it then get going, you won't regret it.

My favourite blogs are:

As you can probably see from the above list they are mostly American. I love America and American fashion. But, I live the UK, Scotland to be precise. So although I love following the American blogs I rely on Ella Gregory at Coco's Tea Party to keep me in-touch and up to date with all thats going on in fashion and beauty in the UK and she does a great job.

If you are not already following them then its definitely worth a look and don't forget you can follow this blog on Bloglovin too (if you are not using Bloglovin then you can still follow this blog by signing up for it with your email address).

Next Summer Sale including Henri Bendel Style Bracelet

The Next in store Summer Sale started today. Just been to my local Next and picked up these great bargains in the jewellery section.
A necklace and two bracelets for the same as the original price of just the necklace! I bought the bottom bracelet because the reminded me of one I saw in Henri Bendel when I was in New York and boy am I glad I bought it, just checked the Henri Bendel website and the are very similar.

The Henri Bendel bracelet is $98 and my Next version is only £5

What did you get in the Next Summer Sale?

Handbag Heaven @ Parfois

Going on holiday abroad soon?
Then check out the Parfois Website (here) to see if they have a store near where you are going.
They have the most amazing handbags.
1. They are cute
2. They are well priced (most are under 30 euros)
3. They are practical (A lot of them have several functions, removable pouches, different straps etc.)

I bought this one when I was recently in Portugal. I was lucky enough that whilst I was there they were having a sale.

As you can see from the photos it has a removable pouch which actually has its own removable strap so its 2 bags in one! It also has a removable purse at the front. So there are many different ways to wear this bag and an absolute bargain at 16.99 euros.

Not going abroad soon? Then fear not - you can shop online in the UK with free delivery over £8.00.
Check it out here

P.S Its not only bags they sell - they have watches, jewellery and shoes

Primark Summer Dresses Reductions

Just bought two super cute summer dresses from Primark.
They were both £20 reduced to £5!
Both perfect for summer and have a great fit.
The detailing is great, especially on the floral one which has a necklace attached.

I had looked at the floral one before, its from their Limited Edition range. It had been already reduced to £10 but I had never gotten round to actually trying it on. But when I saw it at £5 today I didn't even bother trying it on in store.

When I got them home I tried them both thinking there would be something that didn't sit right etc but I was pleased with both. Only draw back for me is that the floral one is slightly open at the back so either shows your bra or you don't wear one! The latter is not gonna happen so I think I will be pairing it with a cut cardi.

The pink tweed and lace one reminds me on something that Rachel Bilson would wear as Zoe Hart in Hart of Dixie with a pair of booties.

Check out your local Primark now for some great summer reductions.

DIY Selfridges Style Summer Beauty Box

I loved the idea of the Summer Beauty Box's that Selfridges were selling. I was really considering buying one but on closer inspection of the contents I realised that there were only really two things in it that I thought I would use - the Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash and the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. At  £25 plus delivery I realised that it wasn't worth it. But Super Mum came to the rescue. For my Birthday last week she put together a Summer Beauty Box designed especially for me. She sourced things on amazon and looked out for free samples on things and some items that she had already put aside for me. She assures me that it all came under £25. It included:
Aveda, John Frieda and loreal hair samples
Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray
Face wipes, moisturiser and shine sheets
Lip balms
Travel size toothpaste
Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Polishes
Collection 2000 nail polish
Babylis hair clips
Marie Claire magazine with the Ciate Caviar mini set
Boots magazine

Why not make one for yourself or as a present or even start putting things aside for a Christmas one. I'd love to hear about it.

Primark Jeans for Sale at Selfridges and Selfridges.com

I was so excited earlier this week whilst browsing through Instagram to find that
as part of the launch for their Denim Studio, Selfridges had taken a photo of a pair of Primark Boyfriend Jeans at £11. I already own these jeans!
I was so chuffed that it was a pair that I had already bought from my local Primark.
There has been a bit of controversy about Selfridges selling Primark Jeans but I think that its great.
As you know I am a great supporter of the fashions that Primark sell and I am not ashamed to say that a majority of my wardrobe comes from there. However, how much cooler is it to say you bought your jeans at Selfridges??? If I lived near Selfridges I would so go and buy them there if they had the ones I wanted instead of across the street in Primark just so I could say they were from Selfridges. A lot of people seem annoyed that it takes the exclusivity away from shopping in Selfridges but I feel there is still a vast majority of the store that I can only dream about buying so its a happy medium of both worlds as far as I'm concerned.
I am hoping to go to London in the summer for a shopping trip and I will definitely be popping into the Denim Studio.

Cowboy Boots

Watching hit show Nashville on Tv really makes me want to wear cowboy boots!
So for once my clothing hoarding pays off. I bought these boots years ago on ebay for a western themed party, I think they cost something like £4 including delivery. I am terrible at never throwing things away just in case I need them again!

There are some great pairs for sale at the moment, here are my favourites:
Boohoo.com £18.00 (here)
F&F at Tesco £22.00 (here)

New Look £99.99 (here)
And the Dream Wish List Pair Isabel Marant at Net-A-Porter £515.00 (here)

Came across these shirts on Ebay today. Sold by House Of Fraser.

Choice of 5 colours and 5 sizes.
£14.99 + Free Delivery
Originally priced at £95.00
This is not something I would have ever considered paying £95.00 for but at £14.99 I would.
I'm still debating on which colour to go for.
I really like the green and would love to team it with cut-off denim shorts on holiday, but I also like the patterned one too.
Like my last House of Fraser find they are perfect for casual and work wear.

Bargain(s) of the Week - Primark Pumps Reductions

This week I went out of town to a different Primark whilst out shopping and I wasn't disappointed.
I snapped up these 2 pairs of flat pumps reduced to £4.00 each.

The blue pair are going to be perfect once we eventually get a summer. They were £8.00 and reduced to £4.00. They are a canvas type material with blue and clear stones around them. They also had them in black with all clear stones in the same pattern but I decided to go for the blue as they felt more summery.

The gold ones were £12.00 reduced to £4.00. I'd be eyeing them up the week before in my local Primark when they were full price so I'm glad I decided not to buy them at the time.
They are gold glitter all over and feature a bug brooch style embellishment on the front.  With Great Gatsby fever everywhere at the moment I can't help but feel they remind me of a 20s style.

Primark's Caviar Style Manicure Set

At only £2.50 when I saw this in Primark I knew I had to give it a go.
I'm not the best at doing my nails but figured it didn't harm to try.
In the box you get a nail polish and a bottle with the little beads in it and a funnel for putting the little beads that aren't used back in the bottle for next time.
The instructions from the back of the box are as follows:
Apply 2 coats of nail polish onto the nail (do each nail individually) Make sure the plastic tray is under your hand for the next step.
Sprinkle the pearl beads over the coated nail (whilst still wet) and gently press into place once covered.
Once finished place the funnel into the bottle top and pour the remaining beads into the bottle from the tray.
Wait 15-20 minutes and your nails will be dry and looking amazing!
I'm not sure what they mean by tray, I used an old flora tub lid but maybe they meant to open up the box I'm not sure.

Inside the box and my finished thumb

It was relatively easy to use. I decided only to do my 2 thumbs with the caviar beads and just painted the rest of my nails. Within an hour or so I noticed that some started to fall off. So I decided to try putting a clear top coat on. I used 2 coats of OPI Nail Envy. I feel it maybe took a bit of the shine of the colour away but it kept them in place a lot better and I wish I had done it from the beginning.
48 hours later there were some obvious gaps, but still doing ok. At 72 hours it was time to take it off.
After 48hrs

Overall for the price I feel that it was worth it but probably just for the day/night and I would highly recommend adding a few layers of top coat on.
I haven't tried the Ciate version but would I try this one again and would I consider buying it again (they also do a white version)? At £2.50 yes and yes. Definitely worth picking one up when you are next instore.

Bargain of The Week

This week's bargain of the week is another £1.00 Primark bracelet. However this time it is full price! Yes you heard right £1.00 is its full price, no sale or promotion, full price.
It is elasticated with silver/pewter coloured beads with an encrusted initial dangling on the end.
Its quite thin and delicate and the beads shimmer in the light.
Looks lovely on its own or stacked with other bracelets.
I obviously picked L because its my own initial but they have others.
They didn't have many in my local store left but I'm hoping that they get more in but might be worth getting to yours quick if you like it.

Bargain of the Week

My Bargain of the week this week is this cute bracelet from Primark.
It was reduced in the sale to £1.00!!

That said it was a bargain price of only £3.00 to begin with.
But at only £1.00 I have bought 2 to allow for any breakages I might have.
It will look great dressed up for a more polished look but equally as great used for dressing up just jeans and a t-shirt.
I love it and it reminds me of the much more expensive Mawi bracelets. This one is currently priced at £375.

Marc Jacobs for £1.99? Yes Please!

Marc Jacobs for £1.99? Yes Please!

I've just been admiring the Marc Jacobs Diet Coke bottles on www.Selfridges.com. Aren't they cute? I have a Karl Lagerfeld one that I got a London Fashion Weekend a few years ago. My only problem is deciding which one, or all three? I was born in the 80s so maybe it should be that one, but then again I grew up in the 90s, but The 00s if cute too. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near a Selfridges Store so will have to pay the £4.95 delivery charge. So in theory buying all three would be more thrifty than buying one! I'd keep it/them on my dresser next to my unopened Karl Lagerfeld one - these are too cute to open. Which one is your favourite?

Welcome

Hi welcome to my first Blog Thrifty and Fashion. I love a bargain and I love Fashion and I hope I can share that with you. But, just because I love a bargain doesn't mean that I don't like the finer things in life, thats what I use my savings for! For example, most of my clothes and jewellery will come from shops like Primark, but for years I wanted a Chanel Handbag. So I saved up, but as you can imagine, I wasn't about to pay full price but I didn't want to risk buying a fake online. Luckily for me I had a flight out of Heathrow Terminal 3 which has a Chanel store. I got approx £300 off the normal London stores price, I used my BAA World Points card to save up points for travel vouchers and I used my AMEX BA card which gave me miles towards my next flight. So although it cost me approx £1300 I still managed to be thrifty in my own little way. So still expect to find me lusting after designer labels but I'm nearly always going to try and get them reduced! Hopefully I'll be able to report on all my bargains and anything more fancy that I have my eye on so stay tuned and follow my blog if you like it.
