At only £2.50 when I saw this in Primark I knew I had to give it a go.
I'm not the best at doing my nails but figured it didn't harm to try.
In the box you get a nail polish and a bottle with the little beads in it and a funnel for putting the little beads that aren't used back in the bottle for next time.
The instructions from the back of the box are as follows:
Apply 2 coats of nail polish onto the nail (do each nail individually) Make sure the plastic tray is under your hand for the next step.
Sprinkle the pearl beads over the coated nail (whilst still wet) and gently press into place once covered.
Once finished place the funnel into the bottle top and pour the remaining beads into the bottle from the tray.
Wait 15-20 minutes and your nails will be dry and looking amazing!
I'm not sure what they mean by tray, I used an old flora tub lid but maybe they meant to open up the box I'm not sure.
Inside the box and my finished thumb |
It was relatively easy to use. I decided only to do my 2 thumbs with the caviar beads and just painted the rest of my nails. Within an hour or so I noticed that some started to fall off. So I decided to try putting a clear top coat on. I used 2 coats of OPI Nail Envy. I feel it maybe took a bit of the shine of the colour away but it kept them in place a lot better and I wish I had done it from the beginning.
48 hours later there were some obvious gaps, but still doing ok. At 72 hours it was time to take it off.
After 48hrs |
Overall for the price I feel that it was worth it but probably just for the day/night and I would highly recommend adding a few layers of top coat on.
I haven't tried the Ciate version but would I try this one again and would I consider buying it again (they also do a white version)? At £2.50 yes and yes. Definitely worth picking one up when you are next instore.
